“More Oral Production from a Flipped Class”

This presentation addressed the results from a flipped classroom approach over 2 semesters.  Low oral production of end of semester assessments compelled this instructor of a Spanish class to reexamine his instructional approach. A flipped classroom approach was implemented for a few lessons. After one semester oral production improved. The second semester more lessons were flipped and oral production improved again. This presentation showed how production increased over the course of 2 semesters.

About the Presenter:

Prof. Carlos Budding is an EFL and Spanish as a Foreign Language professor at Akita International University and part of the faculty of International Liberal Arts.  He is also director of the university learning center.  He has published and presented widely on learner autonomy and language acquisition.
