This blog site is all about Akita–JALT, and our mission to improve the language teaching community in Akita Prefecture. We are part of the national Japan Association for Language Teaching (JALT), and have members who teach in universities, senior high, junior high, and elementary schools, and through their own private schools.
To see what we are all about, come to a meeting. We usually have meetings once a month. Please see the chapter events page for more information.
Our meetings are thought provoking, educational, and FUN. It is a collegial and collaborative atmosphere where presenters feel no pressure or overbearing scrutiny, and the audience is always invited to participate by asking questions, or leading activities. This is central to our mission of improving language teaching throughout Akita Prefecture; Akita-JALT provides an opportunity for people in the language teaching community to present and share their ideas.
Hope to see you at a meeting!
